TAMPIN: A woman who was accompanying her daughter in an ambulance was killed when the vehicle went out of control and crashed along Jalan Felda Bukit Rokan Wednesday night.

Police said Norizah Bujang, 62, died on the spot.

Her daughter, Moriem Tam Suhana Ahmad, 30, survived the accident but was in critical condition due to the electric shock she had suffered while handling a sewing machine at their home near Felda Jelai earlier in the day.

She also suffered bone injuries in the accident and is being treated at the Kuala Pilah hospital.

"Earlier, at about 7pm, Norizah had asked for assistance from a neighbour to take her daughter to the clinic in Jelai. However, due to the severity of the injury, the clinic referred her to the Kuala Pilah hospital," a police spokesman said.

The victim, accompanied by her mother and a medical assistant, was then taken by an ambulance but upon reaching a bend near Jalan Felda Bukit Rokan at about 8pm, the vehicle went out of control and crashed, he said.

The driver and the medical assistance escaped with minor injuries. - Bernama
