Recently, a group of 27 second year landscape architecture students from Faculty of Built Environment, UTM have conducted a study and produced a comprehensive Landscape Master Plan proposal for FELDA Tenggaroh 1 in Mersing, Johor. This community service is for the benefit of local community towards improving their environmental wellbeing. As for the students, they are compelled to do so by the school as part of academic requirements, in lieu of SBL 2046: Landscape Community Design Studio.

This program is deliberately planned to connect servicing the community different environmental context with started learning outcomes: "to practice analytical skills and criticism in real landscape community through establishing enquiry by design; understand and apply an aspect of landscape planning and design, addressing an ecological , sustainable and livable community planning approaches."
