BERA, March 31 — Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he will announce what can be described as a 'windfall' in May for Felda settlers in conjunction with the listing of Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGVH). The Prime Minister said he described the announcement as something that would make the settler dumbfounded.

"How much? I will not announce it today. Just wait, we will make the announcement later," he said when addressing the people at the gathering of the "Leader With The Gugusan Bera Settlers" at Felda Triang 3, near here today.

Also present at the event attended by more than 10,000 settlers were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Ahmad Maslan.

The Prime Minister said the announcement would be made at a mammoth gathering with the settlers in Pahang in May. On the listing of FGVH in June, Najib said the government decided to list the company's shares on Bursa Malaysia to generate multiplying wealth that would eventually give direct benefits to the settlers.

"The government decided that FGVH should be listed because we want the Felda assets to generate multiplying wealth which would then be returned to the settlers," he said. The Prime Minister said the listing was a multiple leap for the new millennium for Felda.

"The settlers will also receive a windfall, (but the settlers) will never imagine the quantum of the windfall," he said. In a related development, Najib said Felda also provided an allocation of more than RM1 billion for the programme to expand the homes of Felda settlers nationwide.

"As of this year, Felda has approved RM813.8 million in loans to 25,455 Felda settlers without imposing any interest. In addition, Felda had increased the loan by another RM200 million to enable more settlers to get the loan to expand their houses," Najib said.

9 Mac 2012 - Saya merupakan penduduk di Felda Mayam, Triang, Pahang berasa amat terkilan dengan isu bekalan air yang berlaku di Felda Mayam sejak bertahun-tahun dahulu lagi sehingga kini tanpa perubahan.

Masalah ketiadaan air amat kerap berlaku di kawasan Felda Mayam menyebabkan banyak aktiviti seharian kami terganggu. Masalah ketiadaan air bukan berlaku sebulan sekali, atau seminggu sekali tetapi dua / sehari sekali!selang sehari masalah air pasti akan berlaku.hal ini amat menyusahkan dan menyukarkan kehidupan seharian kami.

Saya selaku penduduk Felda Mayam berasa amat bosan dan marah dengan keadaan ini kerana tanpa bekalan air, banyak aktiviti seperti memasak, membasuh dan mencuci termasuklah masalah untuk mengambil wuduk berlaku.

Pihak Jabatan Bekalan Air di sini masih belum dapat melaksanakan tanggungjawab kepada penduduk di Felda Mayam dengan sempurna. Pelbagai alasan yang tidak munasabah disampaikan kepada penduduk.

Terbaru, isu pekerja JBA yang tidak bertugas mengikut waktu menyebabkan masalah bekalan air di Felda Mayam sentiasa terputus. Hal ini adalah disebabkan pekerja tersebut tidak mengikut waktu untuk membuka dan menutup pili utama yang menyambungkan bekalan air ke kawasan Felda Mayam.

Adakah disebabkan seorang pekerja menyebabkan seluruh penduduk Felda Mayam menanggung akibat buruk kerana sifat tidak bertanggungjawab pekerja tersebut? Di mana pihak atasan yang sepatutnya memantau dan mengawasi tugasan pekeja itu?

Di harap pihak berwajib idapat mengambil tindakan yang sewajar-wajarnya kepada perkara ini. Terima kasih.
