LAHAD DATU, March 12 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has praised the police and armed forces for maintaining the peace and sovereignity of Sabah.

"The on-going Ops Daulat is a good example of how both security agencies are working together under the National Blue Ocean Strategy.

"It is rare that both the police and the armed forces are working closely together for a common goal," he said during his visit at the Cenderawasih community centre, which is now a temporary evacuation shelter, in Felda Sahabat here today.

Muhyiddin thanked the security forces' effort in protecting our country's borders from the terrorists, NST Online reported.

Present during the visit was Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, state leaders and Rural and Regional Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.

Also present was Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.

Earlier at about 3pm, Muhyiddin visited over 500 displaced villagers that had seeked shelter due to the armed terrorists stand-off and eventual attack on our security forces.

He assured the villagers that the government will do its best to provide assistance to the families and is confident that the situation can return to normal for them.
