NUSAJAYA, Feb 18 — A total of 182.89 ha of land in 10 Felda land schemes has been earmarked for the construction of 3,615 units of houses for the second generation of settlers.

State Rural and Regional Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Asiah Md Ariff said the first phase of the project in Felda schemes would be carried out in Felda Papan Timur, Bukit Aping Barat, Tenggaroh 5, Tenggaroh 2, Tunggal and Air Tawar 3.

The second phase of the project will be implemented in Felda Sungai Sibol, Air Tawar 4, Simpang Waha, and Lok Heng Timur, he told reporters here today.

Asiah said Felda and the State Land Office were identifying other areas for the construction of houses for the second generation of settlers.

To date, 2,571 lots in 20 areas in Felda Sungai Sayong, Bukit Besar, Taib Andak, Ulu Tebrau, Endau, Medoi, Tenang, Chemplak, Kemelah, Sri Ledang, Bukit Serampang, Lenga, Ayer Hitam and Bukit Batu had been identified for the project.

She said 2,418 lots were already owned and it was up to the owners to build their own homes or get help Syarikat Perumahan Nasional Berhad. – BERNAMA
